Trust and intuition

Trust and intuition go hand in hand. So many people think intuition is something “out there” or woo-woo, when in fact it’s a natural sense.

You can’t see or touch intuition, but you can perceive it.

I have done readings for the public for more than twenty years and I often get the question, “can you teach me how to use my intuition?” (For various reason: i.e. as in finding answers or make soul-centered choices.)

Fact is, you already have intuition built-in, and if you’re willing to slow down, go within, and listen, chances are you will feel it.

That’s where trust comes in.

Most people don’t trust their inner sense. As children we were taught to only rely on the outside world.

People lied to us and punished us if we didn’t obey or if we questioned too much. Fit in, by gum, or else!

Children are completely open to all levels until they shut down, which they will invariably do as they go through the system.

If a child can feel intuition, you can too!

  • practice sitting in silence. Make yourself comfortable with silence.
  • trust your “gut feeling.” Your body is an antenna and will never steer you wrong.
  • practice your intuition by running your issues or questions against your inner sense. Does it feel right or wrong? Act accordingly.
  • practice, practice, practice. There is no other way.
  • TRUST what you get and know it’s right. There will always be trial and error, but you get better the more you practice.
  • Make yourself at home in your inner sense.
  • You are the ultimate judge of what is best for you, based on your inner voice.
  • The more you listen, the clearer it will get.

People ask me about intuitive art since it’s something I enjoy making. I start without a plan or ulterior motive and move with the paint as each color strikes me.

Intuitive art is not always pretty, but there is always a message in the paint for me, just as in night dreams. They key is to be open to receive those subtle gifts.

trust and intuition

This painting is a good example. I painted several layers before I saw an eye staring at me. Around the eye, I built the rest of the face. It came out all crooked, but true to what it wanted to be.

The message to me is that maybe I’m out of alignment? I have felt side-tracked lately, by my own doing. If the issue stares me in the face I can get the hint to do something about it.

Intuitive art is authentic. It speaks of deeper layers of our existence. That’s why I have explored the expression for a long time.

I paint other things, and I love mixed media, but intuitive art is about ME and what the energy is trying to tell me.

Sometimes it prompts me to find more joy.

Since we are all connected, an intuitive painting can speak to others on a deep level too.

You are freer to make choices due to your intuition. It’s okay to weigh every pro and con, but what FEELS right? Go with the feeling.

There are many angles to the subject, but intuition is always very straight forward.

I’m using my intuition to get closer to Nature, the mystical inner workings of energy. Now that is an adventure! 🙂

I have some more blog posts that tie in to this: Your Inner Child….

Another: Intuitive art or structured art?

I also have an intuitive art e-course that you can check out. It was $55, now $29. Art As Oracle…

Jump in at the deep end! 🙂

Have a great weekend.

The dog ate my motivation

The dog ate my motivation. Good excuse, right?

We get inventive when it comes to excuses to avoid that which we REALLY want to do if we weren’t so scared.

A lack of motivation usually stems from fear. Sometimes we realize that what we have been doing isn’t working so we lose motivation.

I have been sensing a shift lately. I don’t lack discipline (but strong discipline can sometimes work against me.) A feeling that things weren’t working out has bogged me down in the last week or so.

I felt cornered. I made this art journal spread to express my feelings.

art journaling

Then I realized that I have to go back to the moment, to let my intuition guide me. So often I “push through” which is not guided by my intuition, but by my force of will.

I’m stubborn and I want things to happen NOW, not later or on a universal timeline.  As frustration sets in I have to surrender, and then I find myself back on track, motivated to step forward again.

Our body is a great indicator whether we’re “pushing” or allowing. How does if feel? Like rolling a rock up a mountain?

Water flows easily around obstacles. Be like water.

Listen to that inner urge, the subtle force that propels us forward. The turtle wins the race…

If you don’t feel motivated what can you do? If you want to make art, set aside a no-excuse time to do it and stick with it! Everyone can find 15 minutes a day.

Put your art supplies out on a table or counter somewhere. They are a reminder of what you want to do.

Find creative ways around chores and children or involve the tots in art making with you. You might inspire a future artist.

Watch art how-to videos on YouTube. I have a channel with lots of INSPIRING VIDEOS.

To get on track we have to engage with the things that inspire fear. Art is easy as you can’t go wrong! Look at is as exploration.  I’m only addressing art here, but if you have a different dream, what is holding you back?

Cultivate discipline but don’t let it consume you and your inner sense of what is right. There is a balance to everything.

Trust the sensations in your body. They are never wrong.

When you feel inspired, act! Don’t put it off.

When you don’t feel inspired, listen within and trust that everything is okay.

Make a habit of creating some art every day. It bears repeating. Make friends with your art materials. Sometimes unknown materials can be scary. Remember, your art is never wrong. Accept the ugly with the beautiful and keep going.

Stop making excuses, period. Stand “naked” with the pain of frustration and indecision. Allow the stuckness until you feel that inner “go” again.

Make some bold moves.

Don’t blame the dog! 🙂

P.S. I have some inspiring and affordable e-courses if you’re looking for tutorials. CLICK HERE.

I joined a 30 day blog writing challenge.

Yes, I joined, gasp.  What was I thinking?

I love to write, but having to come up with interesting posts every day is not easy.  I do love to inspire where I can, so expect to see some inspirational posts and art of course.

soap-bubble-1388505__180Life is truly about following one’s dreams and that is what I’m doing, but I have found that my dream is morphing into something slightly different.  I love art and art classes that expand my skills and imagination. Art is a constant exploration, not a fixed “dream” per se.  Being immersed in art is being inside the dream, so it’s process. Nothing new there but sometimes I look at art as something concrete and inflexible.

In the nineties I was obsessed with communicating with nature and learning about flower essences. I lived in Upstate New York at the time and then I moved to Florida and all that work went by the wayside. I have not had the same connection with Florida nature since it’s very different.  Think savage and tough to survive the heat. Lots of prickly and biting things, but every landscape has its own beauty.

I have always been fascinated with the metaphysical aspects of nature.

nature

Have you ever stopped by a tree and felt its presence?  Why are we drawn to certain areas of nature but not others? It is an intuitive reaction and the body might feel more comfortable by the beach than in the mountains.

Working with nature metaphysically takes patience and stillness.  The challenge is to still the mind and be in the present. All of nature lives in the present, so the gateway is NOW. The more we practice being in the moment of now, the more open we become to energies.

I believe the destruction of nature will end if people become aware of the beautiful life force of everything.  We won’t be so eager to do, make, and use things that destroy.

Since I’m aware that nature is highly intelligent and a totally AWARE Being and WANTS to work with us, I feel it’s only right that I endeavor to inspire others to grow that connection  Nature can help us with every aspect of life.  Nature spirits are not a myth, but they only exist on the inner plane, though people have seen them. They can appear as any form.  🙂

dwarf-972875__180Next time you go out in nature, pick out a tree that seems friendly or any other plant. Take a deep breath to still yourself and see if you can tune into the energy of the plant.  It might surprise you.  The energy is usually loving and fun.

That would be a first step to connecting with nature. If you don’t feel anything, keep trying. It can take some time so practice the connection. If you can, go to the same plant each time. You can also use a house plant.

How does this connect to art? Art is energy and if I were to translate nature’s energy into art, it would be mostly  colors in an abstract way for me. I believe we recognize the energy that flows  through everything and that’s why we like good art.

All for now. More tomorrow about the wonders of nature and other things. 🙂

I wish you a creative week!!

P.S. I have three evergreen mixed media art e-courses available for self study.  CLICK HERE.

Art As Oracle

Happy New Year, busy bees!

I have been busy too this last week with creating Art As Oracle. I had a great inspiration for an e-course that combines art and intuition, a very basic and fun course. You can read all about it below:

Hello lovelies,

I started the new year with a bang! I’m excited about this new e-course I created that combines art and intuition. You can read all about it below:

artasorbanner

If you have trouble letting go of limitations; if you doubt your ability to make art and have a connection with your inner self, this e-course is for you. UNLEASH YOUR ART AND INTUITION NOW using simple techniques.

To me, art is the perfect medium to explore your intuition, though there are many methods. For myself I use a blend of art and writing, but I have discovered that the simpler the method, the better. I guarantee you that ANYONE can learn to get accurate psychic information for themselves, and I would love to get you started!  You don’t have to be an artist to take this e-course!

Example of an intuitive art expression. (Everyone’s art will be different.) The main message I got was “it’s safe to fly even in stormy weather.”
002

What you will gain:

  • New ways of making art.
  • You will learn how to let go and trust the information coming through the art.
  • You will have several ways to access your intuition, something you can use all the time.
  • Deepening your intuition will help you make better choices in your everyday life.
  • The guidance will make you feel more sure of your inner abilities.
  • Get back to the very basics and find that things don’t have to be complicated in life.
  • Get fast and easy answers and solutions to problems.
  • Let loose your art muse!

Why take this course?

This course is for you if:

  • You wish to explore a childlike way of creating without pressure to perform.
  • You long to learn a new way to get to know your inner self.
  • Make some art to open up your creative flow.
  • Use simple techniques to access your latent intuition.

Other benefits:

  • Unleash your creativity.
  • Challenge inner blocks and move past them.
  • Kick fear to the curb.
  • You will have support as you open up your intuitive sense.
  • You will open up the door to future art expression if you wish to continue.

Pretty much all of my life I have loved making art. I have tried every style imaginable, and I’m always amazed at what comes out of my explorations. I also spent years as a fiction writer, and in the last 20 years I’ve been doing clairvoyant readings for the public. I’m at a point where I’d rather help people develop their own intuition since we all have it! Think of a muscle that has been sitting unused. When you start exercising it, things happen and new experiences come forth, enriching your life in untold ways.

Another EXAMPLE of intuitive art. The main message here was to break the boundaries and allow what makes me happy to burst through.

This is a four week e-course and a bonus week with a guided meditation.
Over the course of four weeks you will learn four different ways to access your intuition via art.

Week 1: We will play with paints on paper and interpret the forms that come through.

Week 2: We will use a doodle technique.

Week 3: We will work with random words and colors.

Week 4: We will explore using written text and art.

Week 5: BONUS! An audio meditation that will inspire a finished art piece that you can use as guidance and inspiration in 2016. It deals with how to transcend an internal block using meditation and magazine images, plus paints.

You will learn to interpret the messages in the art (with my help if needed.)

You will receive four art videos with voice instruction, available on Mondays, starting on JANUARY 25, 2016.

I will also supply an intro video where I explain about intuition and how to read the messages, plus HOW to ask efficient questions to your inner self.

  • To explore your art results and learn how to read them, there is a dedicated Facebook group where I will personally help you interpret the art and give you other tips on accessing your intuition.

This course is great for beginners and art veterans alike.

It is a $75 value and a bargain at $33 until January 11, and then it will go up to $75.

About me:

I’m a long-time mixed-media artist and writer, and  I have combined my knowledge into various e-courses and YouTube how-to videos. I’m excited to share this e-course with you, and my hope it that it will inspire you to explore your creativity. The adventure does not end as you finish your course, but is the beginning to a new life of exploring creativity and your inner sixth sense.

Today was a great day!

I had a great day today.  Got up well rested (for once) and felt really pumped to do my work at the computer. That’s what life is all about, feeling great and looking forward to working every day.

I love creating. Lately I have been creating a couple of websites and e-courses instead of spending time in my studio, but all is in balance.

I have no choice but to go with the flow. When I feel inspired to do something I do it, no matter what my reason tells me to do.  I refuse to make myself small and do the “musts” and the “have tos.” Life is too short to keep following the rules I followed before I took charge of my life.

Life is supposed to feel liberating, and it does when I let it. I refuse to fight the flow.  It’s so much easier to go with the flow than to struggle against it. I struggled too many years as it is.

I have created a new website with an e-course on developing your intuition.  I’m working on the e-book right now, but if you want to be kept in the loop for the launch, please sign up for the newsletter HERE.

The e-course and the e-book are coming soon, and it’s going to be great!  It’s chockfull of ways to use your intuition in a constructive, practical way.  Do you use your intuition?

P.S. I do have an e-course available about art and the six senses, titled Visionary Art Journaling. It is lots of fun!  CLICK HERE to check it out.

Discover something new today!

Calling all art lovers,

Discover something new today, step out of the comfort zone and try something you haven’t done before, like parachuting out of an airplane (only kidding.)  I’m afraid of heights, so that would be a very uncomfortable challenge for me, lol.  However, I have explored new horizons in my art, combining intuition with art journaling. How much fun is that!?

My e-course on the subject starts on Monday, June 15, so there is still time to join. You will get six meditations that tie into our six senses, and six art spreads as inspiration as you explore your own. Videos and bonuses. You can discover a new layer within yourself, and it’s exciting. To sign up for my e-course, go HERE.

To whet your appetite, here’s an art journal spread I made about “how an orange tastes.”  It’s not necessary to know how to paint faces in the course.  Anyone can join and your expression is as open as you like it to be! No rules, but I will inspire you.

If you haven’t signed up for my art newsletter, you can do so HERE.

I hope to see you in the e-course!
