Who is looking?

Who is looking through my eyes? Kind of a deep question, and something that could be discussed at length, but to make it simple:

Life itself, filtered through many of my beliefs and preferences, (perhaps unfortunately,) 🙂

Life itself does not judge. When I’m aligned with that and in flow, working, I don’t think much about the art and where it’s going. I just DO.

who is looking?

I add one color or one item that pleases me. It’s an automatic act, pretty much. I lay down one color and then I choose the next and so on. I choose what pleases my eye in the moment.

The process intrigues me and the result usually amazes me because what appears is beyond what I would have painted had I decided to paint a still life motif or some other fixed view.

The process is so intriguing that it becomes the most desired way to express for me.  I’d go as far as saying it’s addictive.

It takes trust to work this way.  Trust grows by DOING.

What the art process reveals is always interesting even if I don’t like the finished art work. That happens quite often, but I respect the process.

Then I move on to the next page or canvas… and the next. After all, art is constant change.  Life is constant change. What we liked yesterday does not work today.

who is looking?

Art reveals life and life reveals art.

We learned to live in 3D by experimentation. Toddlers live in trial and error mode all day long. 🙂 Once we get past that stage, what then? Maybe boredom sets in.

I think it’s incredibly important to keep experimenting with life. No need to go to extremes, but what is your creative power?

It doesn’t have to be art, but for artists there are endless possibilities for experimentation. We are so lucky! We can be catalysts for life itself, our hands and tools extensions of something greater.

All we need to do is get in the flow every day, by DOING. Do art, make stuff, trust your instincts, have faith that all is well, embody the greatness.

Allow life to see through you and use your unique gifts. That’s when life becomes magical.

Have a creative weekend!

Maria

If you have trouble letting go of limitations; if you doubt your ability to make art and have a connection with your inner self, this e-course is for you. UNLEASH YOUR ART AND INTUITION NOW using simple techniques.

To me, art is the perfect medium to explore your intuition, though there are many methods. For myself I use a blend of art and writing, but I have discovered that the simpler the method, the better. I guarantee you that ANYONE can learn to get accurate psychic information for themselves, and I would love to get you started!  You don’t have to be an artist to take this e-course!

Example of an intuitive art expression. (Everyone’s art will be different.) The main message I got was “it’s safe to fly even in stormy weather.”

flyartjournalspread

What you will gain:

  • New ways of making art.
  • You will learn how to let go and trust the information coming through the art.
  • You will have several ways to access your intuition, something you can use all the time.
  • Deepening your intuition will help you make better choices in your everyday life.
  • The guidance will make you feel more sure of your inner abilities.
  • Get back to the very basics and find that things don’t have to be complicated in life.
  • Get fast and easy answers and solutions to problems.
  • Let loose your art muse!

Why take this course?

This course is for you if:

  • You wish to explore a childlike way of creating without pressure to perform.
  • You long to learn a new way to get to know your inner self.
  • Make some art to open up your creative flow.
  • Use simple techniques to access your latent intuition.

Other benefits:

  • Unleash your creativity.
  • Challenge inner blocks and move past them.
  • Kick fear to the curb.
  • You will have support as you open up your intuitive sense.
  • You will open up the door to future art expression if you wish to continue.

Pretty much all of my life I have loved making art. I have tried every style imaginable, and I’m always amazed at what comes out of my explorations. I also spent years as a fiction writer, and in the last 20 years I’ve been doing clairvoyant readings for the public. I’m at a point where I’d rather help people develop their own intuition since we all have it! Think of a muscle that has been sitting unused. When you start exercising it, things happen and new experiences come forth, enriching your life in untold ways.

Another EXAMPLE of intuitive art. The main message here was to break the boundaries and allow what makes me happy to burst through.

artjournaling

This is a four week e-course and a bonus week with a guided meditation.

Over the course of four weeks you will learn four different ways to access your intuition via art.

Week 1: We will play with paints on paper and interpret the forms that come through.

Week 2: We will use a doodle technique.

Week 3: We will work with random words and colors.

Week 4: We will explore using written text and art.

Week 5: BONUS! An audio meditation that will inspire a finished art piece that you can use as guidance and inspiration in 2016. It deals with how to transcend an internal block using meditation and magazine images, plus paints.

You will learn to interpret the messages in the art (with my help if needed.)

You will receive four art videos with voice instruction, available via email now.

I will also supply an intro video where I explain about intuition and how to read the messages, plus HOW to ask efficient questions to your inner self.

  • To explore your art results and learn how to read them, there is a dedicated Facebook group where I will personally help you interpret the art and give you other tips on accessing your intuition.

This course is great for beginners and art veterans alike.

Christmas is coming

Christmas is coming, folks. Yeah, kind of scary, but I love the lights, white lights, twinkling lights, colored lights. I usually have a small Christmas tree. It’s tall and narrow, and I load it up with lights, and then I sit in my comfy chair every evening and enjoy the lights. It brings me back to my childhood.

Last year I made some videos on how to make your own Christmas cards. It was kind of late in the game, so this year, I’m posting them early just in case you want to try to make your own.

Here is the link to  the whimsical Christmas village CARD.

I don’t have a picture of it because I lost all my picture files for the last part of 2015, but if you click the link you can see the card at the beginning of the video.

I’m going to have another e-course sale starting tomorrow. This time I’m offering my ART AS ORACLE on sale for $27. It’s usually $55, so it’s a great deal for sure.

Creativity on fire.

Creativity on fire, do you feel it, or do you feel stuck most of the time?

Creativity has become a big deal these days. The word is thrown around all over Facebook and other social media.  What is creativity?  I like how Wiki defines creativity:

Creativity is a phenomenon whereby something new and somehow valuable is formed. The created item may be intangible (such as an idea, a scientific theory, a musical composition or a joke) or a physical object (such as an invention a literary work or a painting).

In other words, it’s not just artsy stuff. I’m into artsy stuff and self development. Creative ideas can be very helpful in both.

The problem with art is that we tend to copy each other, or paint in the style that is popular now. The artists we admire have forged their own path of creativity and that’s why they are leaders.

Forging your own path can be quite difficult and challenging, especially if you’re prone to criticize yourself and your work. It is always easier to copy others.

However, all the art looks the same, and part of us approve that we follow the trend, but another part says “wait a minute” that painting is not ME.

The only way to keep creativity on fire is to explore your inner landscape, to discover more and more of who you are and how you express. That means to listen to your intuition and step lightly and slowly in a world that runs at warp speed. Are you willing to truly go deep an explore or are you just having fun copying others or the teacher of the moment?

Every moment that feels authentic has another moment following, and to keep authentic we have to listen for that moment and what it presents. It might not present anything, and then we get frustrated.

I do this all the time. I override my better deeper judgment and paint something I already know, usually something cute. As you know, cute is IN, so you can’t go wrong with cute and whimsical.

However, the practice makes me frustrated and I get stopped in my tracks. That’s no way to feel around creativity. I want to feel fresh and inspired, “on fire.”

Maybe the hardest thing is to stay present and listening, and not bulling through to the finished product.

I have a FREE mini ecourse where art-ing in the moment can be explored. Check this out: Ugly Is Ok!

Art Tripping!

Art Tripping, what is that?

It does not have anything to do with illegal substances. Tripping can mean many things since English is a tricky language. However, in this case it means to take an actual journey.

I have been wanting in the worst way to go on a trip for a while now, but timing has not been good. That’s my excuse anyway.

So, I decided to do some art journaling around a virtual trip. I chose four locations, the city, the beach, the forest, and the desert. Those parts are all inspiring to me. I decided to make it a bargain e-course so that more people can afford it. The course will last four weeks, and the videos are quick and easy. Personally, I like fast videos since I don’t want to slog through four or five in an online class. The e-course starts on April, 18.

Here is the cityscape and the beach pictures from the class. Your art will look completely different, but that’s the challenge.

arttripping5I hope you join me for this virtual journey. It would be nice to have a busload of people!

Happy creating,
